Learning how to learn: Helping dyslexic and language disordered children to access the curriculum- introducing practical applications of some of the theories of learning and memory. The course looks at how a child learns and how to encourage him/her to retain the information.
Students can be taught how to improve any of the following areas: -

  • Organisational skills

  • Memory

  • Note-taking

  • Revision

  • Exam technique

  • Essay writing

The techniques of improved memory and study skills can be taught. Many students work out their own methods the hard way, but wish they had been taught these techniques at a much earlier age. Other students need to be taught how to study.

The main objective of CALSC is to help students of any age to achieve their goals, whether that be to learn to talk, read, spell or study to pass Common Entrance, GCSE, A-Level, degree or professional examinations. All students studying for exams can learn techniques to increase their efficiency and effectiveness in revision and examinations. Skills such as improved memory; organisation, self-motivation, confidence and speed reading can be taught. Please visit the website for further information.
