The old adage ‘you are what you eat’ is true. Nutritious food eaten at regular intervals will keep your body ticking along just nicely. Too much and you put on weight: too little and you lack energy, concentration and eventually suffer ill health.

You should eat a little and often to regulate your blood sugar and keep your mood and energy level. Aim to eat five or six meals a day – but that’s not six on-a-plate meals! Aim for breakfast, lunch and dinner and then between these main meals opt for healthy, balanced nutrition – mid morning, mid afternoon and late evening if you wish

Sports nutrition is fast food for active people. Many people associate sports nutrition with great tubs of protein powder for body builders and, to be honest, they are very popular with certain people! Many athletes take sports nutrition to support their training, performance and recovery. And EAS is a brand enjoyed by many professional athletes who trust is natural ingredients, scientific testing, integrity and doping free guarantee.

Products the Pros Use
World class athletes such as cyclist Nicole Cooke, triathletes Tim Don, rugby player Jason White and natural body builder Jason Barnett rely on EAS. A and you can too – whether you’re a gym bunny, five-a-side football player, budding body builder or weekend runner, EAS has products that can help you boost your nutrition, support your sport and not compromise your balanced diet.

EAS uses the finest natural ingredients in its Myoplex range and combines these with scientific precision to deliver the ideal balance of protein, carbohydrate, vitamins and minerals. Elite athletes favour Myoplex and so should you – if you’re serious about losing body fat, gaining muscle tone and maintaining a strong immune system. All your best exercise efforts can’t work alone: what you eat is core to your health, weight, body composition and emotional wellbeing.

Apart from being better for you, sports nutrition products are much more satisfying than unhealthy snacks as their protein content slows down the carbohydrate and sugar uptake giving you steady energy and preventing the ‘spikes’ in blood sugar that can spark mood swings. Sports nutrition products comprise protein, carbohydrates, essential fats, vitamins and minerals.

Before you exercise

Don’t exercise ‘on empty’. You won’t be able to concentrate and your body won’t be able to work hard enough to make a difference. About an hour before, you could have a Myoplex Energy Bar. It has fast and slow release carbohydrates to give you immediate and sustainable energy. It’s packed with nutrients including 50% RDA of B complex vitamins, Vitamin C and E. And it has Taurine and Chromium to help your body use the carbohydrates while you exercise and Glutamine to help protect your muscles and support your body’s immune system. It’s a good choice that won’t give you belly ache! Tim Don and Nicole Cooke enjoy one of these literally on the run and in the saddle because it is digested quickly and gentle on the stomach.

While you exercise

Dehydration is one of the biggest causes of poor energy. If you are doing exercise and are even as little as 2% dehydrated, your performance is reduced by 20%. If you’re exercising for less than an hour, you can rehydrate sufficiently with water. If you’re working out for longer then an iso-tonic drink - such as EAS Energy IsoDrive - that contains sugar, salt and minerals lost through perspiration is highly recommended.

You should drink 2-3 litres per day of water, diluted fruit juices, herb and fruit teas. But remember tea, coffee, sugary drinks and alcohol don’t count as they dehydrate you!

After Exercise
If you’re looking for muscle definition - to give you shapely arms, legs, back and abdominals - you need to literally feed your muscles while they repair and re-shape. The reshaping of the muscle comes in the recovery phase – not while working out. While you exercise you’re breaking down the muscle. When you rest and recuperate the muscles reform and reshape: so that’s the time you need pure protein, amino acids and other nutrients to help the muscles literally take shape.

You need to get nutrition to your muscles within 30 minutes of working out to get the best effect. But if you eat a protein food – such as meat, fish or eggs – they can’t be digested quickly enough to reach your muscles. Top quality, pure sports nutrition protein products CAN reach the muscles in that time frame. That’s why professional athletes take Myoplex shakes and bars straight after exercise. Furthermore, when you’ve just finished exercising, your body is too busy recovering to activate an efficient digestion – which is why if you wolf down food after exercise you can get indigestion!

EAS Myoplex shakes are easily digested and absorbed. It’s formulated with soy and whey proteins, vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients your body needs to maintain muscle tissue, optimize fat burning and support an active metabolism. Each serving provides high quality protein, energy sustaining carbohydrates, 22 vitamins and minerals, L-Glutamine to aid recovery and pre-biotic fibre to support a healthy digestion. The sweet flavours of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla satisfy the taste buds while the drink satisfies your body’s immediate post-workout needs.

Beat the Munchies
Mid-morning and mid-afternoon munchies are the downfall of many of us. This is when our self control deserts us – when blood sugar levels are dropping, it’s not lunch or supper time yet. All of a sudden, chocolate bars, biscuits and muffins look very tempting! Reach for a Myoplex Diet Bar instead to satisfy your sweet cravings while fuelling your body with a perfect balance of protein, amino acids, carbohydrate, fat, vitamins and minerals. Choose from Chocolate Nut, Chocolate Orange and Strawberry Crunch flavours.

Be What You Eat

If you’re looking to be lean, full of energy, strong and healthy – so should your food choices. It’s not just about exercise to get fit: good nutrition is just as important. And as much as good food can boost your chances of achieving fitness and vitality, poor food choices can compromise your best efforts.
