History of Cricket: Today’s bat was invented around 1853, the blade made of willow, and a cane handle layered with strips of rubber, tied with twine then covered with rubber to make a grip, it is impossible to distinguish between what may be cricket and what may be related games. However the first reference to cricket being played is thought to be in 1300, between Prince Edward and his friend Piers Gaveston, The first recorded match took place at Coxheath in Kent in 1646.

Fusion Sports Cricket Bats are hand made in workshops to meet the exact requirements of every cricketer. With indoor facilities to try out the beautifully hand crafted bats, you can rest assure that you make the correct purchase, walking away with the most respectably acquired piece of cricketing craftsmanship, giving you the option to Select Grade and Super Grade, incorporating many unique and innovative features all designed to provide the largest sweet spot and that so-important advantage over the opposing team. The hook is a special feature of all Fusion Sport bats.

Fusion Sport caters for all the latest innovations. 2005 saw the introduction of parallel weighting. The manufacturing facility includes all weather floodlit indoor nets, where prospective customers can try out bats of differing densities. Incredibly, these bats weigh the same (see left) but the density of the wood and the manufacturing techniques employed result in the dramatically different profiles. Fusion Sports bespoke 'fitting' service allows them to customise a Customer's bat to their exact requirements.

For instance, after trying the bat in the nets, they can adjust the sweet spot's position or the centre of gravity of the bat to get it just right. Offering bats in all standard weights and sizes from Junior Size Six upwards.
