Services
Patrol&response
seeks to combine manpower and security technology to provide an effective
and appropriate security solution that reflects individual client needs.
Advances
in technology and the impact of legislation affecting the provision of
manned services has lead many organisations to re-evaluate their security
needs, it is becoming increasingly difficult for some to justify the
expense of a full time security presence. The patrol&response
portfolio of services is designed to meet those needs both in terms of the
mechanics of the service and budgetary constraints
|
patrol&response comprises of
four main services:
Mobile Patrol
|
 |
Uniformed
security officers in a fleet of liveried vehicles carry out the service,
providing 16 hours cover a night and during the 24 hours of Saturday,
Sunday and all public holidays. Each officer is issued with keys for
customer premises and carries out an agreed number of inspections on each
site at random intervals throughout each shift.
The
service is designed to meet individual client requirements, but because
the cost is shared by a number of customers in a patrol area, it offers an
affordable and effective alternative to a full time security presence.
Whilst
crime prevention and security are the major reasons for using Group 4’s
mobile patrol service, in truth the service offers much more.
Visiting
premises outside of normal working hours, our patrol officers can perform
a variety of good housekeeping tasks aimed at preventing or reducing loss
and waste. Our officers can also liase with cleaning companies,
maintenance staff or other contractors to allow and supervise site access
for essential out of hours works.
|
To achieve this, our
officers’ checks may include:
-
Closing windows or other potential access points
-
Switching off lights or equipment
-
Reporting obstructed fire exits
-
Reporting defective security devices: locks, fences etc
-
Setting & unsetting of alarms
-
Checking for potential fire hazards

Keyholder and Alarm Response
It is 3
am and you have been told that an alarm has activated at your premises:
-
Do you want to go and deal with it?
-
Do you want your staff disturbed at home to
deal with it?
-
Are you or your staff able to respond
safely?
-
Has you or your staff received any training
in alarm response?
-
Is it fair to ask your staff to risk
disturbing an intruder?
-
Will whoever responds have to wait on site
for an engineer to reset the alarm?
-
Will you or your staff be able to give 100%
after a disturbed night?
-
What happens if you or your keyholders are
on holiday?
These
concerns can all be addressed and resolved by using Group 4’s keyholder&response
service. We have a network of Response officers who are vetted, trained
and available to respond rapidly to alarm activations.
Simply
register Group 4 as your principal keyholder and give us the keys and
alarm codes. In the event of any alarm activation we will dispatch an
officer to investigate the cause, liase with the alarm company and if
necessary, the police, arrange for the alarm to be reset, arrange for any
emergency repairs such as boarding up, and leave you with a full incident
report. You and your staff will not be disturbed unless there has been a
serious incident that requires your attention or further instruction.
Response
need not be limited to just intruder alarm activation. In truth plant
machinery, access control systems and perimeter detection systems all
generate alarms to which Group 4 can provide a keyholder response,
provided that the alarm itself can send a signal to a receiving station.
Security Escort
Some organisations prefer or
require that their own staff attend alarm activations. There are obvious
risks involved in sending untrained, unaccompanied staff to deal with
these potentially dangerous situations.
|
As
part of the keyholder&response
service Group 4 will provide a trained, vetted, uniformed Security
Officer to either meet your employee at the premises, or at a suitable
rendezvous point or even from their home locally and remain with them
until the problem is resolved. Our central control room is in constant
communication with our officers and is kept appraised at each stage of
the operation.
The
service is not restricted to escorting keyholders; it can be adapted
to provide protection for vulnerable staff having to attend any
potentially hazardous situation. |
 |
Tele-contact
An
additional service that we offer to remotely managed personnel is
Tele-contact. Potentially vulnerable personnel such as lone workers, field
engineers or in house security teams can use our Communications Centre as
a point of contact and support.
At the
start and end of a shift, or period of work, personnel log in and out with
our Communications Centre via a dedicated phone system. At predetermined
intervals, usually hourly, personnel make check calls with the
Communications Centre staff to notify well being. If for any reason check
calls are missed our Communication Centre staff will take an agreed course
of action to establish contact before escalating the procedure to initiate
a manned response.
Where
appropriate our response teams will visit the site to establish physical
contact and in the case of any emergency will ensure a swift response from
the emergency services.
