GYMKIDS RANGE TO HELP
SCHOOLS IMPROVE PE PROVISION, AND PROMOTE CHILDHOOD FITNESS

A new range of fitness
equipment for the nursery to 11 year old age group, which allows
schools to mirror adult fitness suites, add value to their existing
health & fitness or child-oriented proposition and potentially open a
new revenue stream for schools via Gymkids after school clubs. Gymkids
was launched at the Education show in March of this year. Gymkids are
also exhibiting at this year’s Leisure Industry Week event.
The Gymkids range, which includes treadmills, air walkers, rowing
machines and cycling machines – all in miniature - has been designed
to make fitness more fun for children.
The exercise bike and
treadmill feature an electronic display showing time, distance and
energy used. Available in bright primary colours and produced in
robustly constructed steel and rubber, with comfortable gel seats and
foam padded handlebars, all products in the range are supplied with a
three year warranty. |

The products are not
intended to enhance muscle development but, under adult supervision, to
encourage children to enjoy fitness and take part in regular
cardiovascular activity. In using the products, children will only ever
push against their own weight. The objective is to make exercise fun from
an early age and, in so doing, help engender healthy, active habits that
will last a lifetime.
“We know that young children particularly enjoy copying what their parents
do in all aspects of their life, and we know already how much children
enjoy using this equipment” explains Gymkids’ Stephen Smith. “schools can
readily incorporate our equipment into existing PE routines, with some
schools now even adding a child-focused fitness suite, schools can
potentially, further differentiate themselves by contacting us and using
the Gymkids range of equipment as part of after school club activities.”
Products in the range Conforms to European standards. We are also working
with the certification advisory boards regarding complying with the
directives as set out in EN957, where they relate to children’s fitness.
