Would you like to raise some money for your children's school? Or are you planning to run a marathon for charity?

Either way, Justgiving offers the perfect way to raise money without the hassle of traditional sponsor forms. And it's far less trouble than organising a jumble sale!

By creating your own webpage on www.justgiving.com you can raise money for your school or for one of over 300 UK charities - it's easy, fun and what's more the money goes straight to the charity of your choice so it's secure too.

All you need to do is create your page and then circulate the address to parents, governors, friendly local businesses and so on. They donate online with a credit card and you can watch the total grow.

Justgiving provides charities with the technology to raise funds online - it's cheaper than traditional methods of fundraising and also tax-efficient for registered charities.

Every donation made by a UK taxpayer to a registered charity is eligible for Gift Aid. For every pound donated through Justgiving, we will automatically reclaim 28% from the Treasury and add it to the donation, making it even more worthwhile. This is hugely attractive for charities, many of which don't reclaim Gift Aid on small donations because it is not cost-effective to do so.

Justgiving launched in January 2001 and now processes donations on behalf of more than 300 UK charities. The number is growing all the time and already includes some of the biggest charity names like Cancer Research UK and Barnardo's as well as local hospices and helplines.

We also provide news and information about all the charities on the site, what they do and how they spend their money. Written by professional journalists, it's objective and topical and can be a useful educational tool for teachers and pupils.

So next time someone mentions a jumble sale, why not check out Justgiving instead?
