New York Film Academy
|
The Academy was founded
in 1992 on a belief that a top qualify education in filmmaking should
be accessible to anyone with the drive and ambition to make films.
The New York Film
Academy is a unique educational institution, devoted to providing the
most focused filmmaking, acting, and animation instruction in the
world. Their workshops offer a rigorous, hands-on experience that
gives students the opportunity to expand their creative skills to the
fullest extent possible. |

New York Film Academy
courses balance the study of the art form with practical experience, in
order to train students to be the best filmmakers, actors or animators
they can be. The subject is taught through a balance of classroom
instruction, hands-on workshops, and immediate experience. Indeed, from
day one, students are behind the camera, performing in a scene, or
creating a 3-D model-- learning by doing.
New York Film Academy
students are not lost in large classes. As an explicit policy, the Film
Academy limits class size, making individual attention and interaction
among students and instructors possible. All students are encouraged to
meet faculty one-on-one for consultation throughout the workshop.
The New York Film Academy
believes that the correct path for filmmakers is to immediately start
making their own films in a hands-on intensive working environment.
The Academy opened its
doors in 1992 in Robert DeNiro‘s Tribeca Film Centre. Since that time they
have grown into facilities in Manhattan‘s Union Square and Soho and also
opened a Film Academy at St Catherine's College in Oxford, England.
