The
Prince’s Trust is youth charity that is committed to helping change
young lives. We provide support, training and mentoring to 14-30
year-olds, helping them to find work and discover their true potential,
even when they can’t see it themselves.
|
We
focus our attention on young people who need our help the most – the
ones who have struggled at school and left without the qualifications
they need to find a job. Or the ones who’ve got into crime or grew up in
care, and think that no-one actually cares any more.
Through our courses and support networks, the young people we work with
can develop the right skills, motivation and confidence to set them on
their chosen path; whether that is securing an apprenticeship, getting
their first job or setting up in business.

|
Our
approach is about encouraging young people to take responsibility. It’s
not about handouts, but about giving young people the opportunity to
build their confidence and offer them a way back. Our research shows
that.
|
è
young
people on Prince’s Trust courses are 40% more likely to be motivated for
work and, in turn, feel more responsible for their health.
è
more than three in four young people on Prince’s
Trust courses last year moved into work, education or training.
è
The
Prince’s Trust Team programme contributes an estimated £4.75 million
through the volunteer time given to local communities through community
projects such as the renovation of a community centre or creation of a
children’s play area.
But we
have so much more to do. Young people are our future. If we don’t give
them the right support and direction, the implications of that neglect
will affect us all.
We
need your help. The Prince’s Trust needs to raise around £1 million
every week to continue our vital work; work that not only transforms
young lives, but also has a
profound impact on our communities and economy.
