www.QuestOverseas.com
Founded
in 1996, Quest Overseas is a specialist travel organisation that focuses
on running team projects and expeditions to Africa and Latin America for
those aged 17-25.
For GAP years we offer 3 month GAP expeditions which combine learning a
language, working on a project and then an adventure expedition. We also
run shorter team trips specifically for people who want to travel during
their summer break.
Quest is not an agent
for projects overseas. We are actively involved in every
project and work with local partners that share our vision.
We work in environments and with communities that need
long-term support and our volunteers have now given nearly
£1 million directly to our projects overseas through (The
Quest Charitable Trust)
All our adventure expeditions are designed to pack-in as
many activities as possible whilst taking you to places the
average backpacker would never reach alone.
We provide a very personal service and meet or interview
every volunteer we send away as well as providing training
before you leave.
We don’t mix GAP volunteers with our career break or
sabbatical volunteers.

Our
volunteers experience a lot in three months and develop many new skills.
In fact most of them gain the confidence to travel on after their gap
year with QUEST with friends from their team.
“From travelling on afterwards I am so appreciative of all that you did
for me, and the group, to ease us into travelling. I definitely couldn’t
have got myself from country to country without the experience that
Quest gave me, nor would I have had the confidence to do so. The
organisation of the trip was brilliant and this meant that we could
enjoy our time to the maximum.”
Sarah Yates, Gap Year Quest in Swaziland.

Africa
or South America? The choice is yours and we have various types of
projects that may interest you including rainforest conservation,
working with animals, community work, marine conservation (diving) and
working with orphans. Our expeditions and voluntary work can also help
you towards your DofE (preparation work involved first) or count as
practical experience within related University degrees.
The adventure part of a QUEST 3 month gap year serves as the reward for
working hard on one of our overseas projects. You could find yourself
white-water rafting, bungee-jumping, trekking in the jungle,
ice-climbing, scuba diving or even sand-surfing. It all depends where
you go and what kind of experience you’re looking for.
We work with first-class project partners including: Fauna and Flora
International, Excellent Development, Rainforest Concern, Joshua Orphan
Care Trust and Inti Wara Yassi, plus all of our projects are supported
for a minimum of 5 years and involve the local communities.

So how much does it cost?
Trips range from £1,310 to £4,520 depending on the duration and
destination. The price includes all activities, food, internal
transport, accommodation, on site project and expedition Leaders, 24
hour UK support, a substantial donation direct to the project you work
on and comprehensive pre-departure training. During your trip, you’ll
just need money for drinks and souvenirs. Flights and insurance are
extra and arranged by you, but we will advise you according to your
individual requirements. We are happy to provide a breakdown of how your
funds are spent.
All brochures and application forms can be downloaded from
www.QuestOverseas.com and we have regular open afternoons down at our
office in Haywards Heath.
Do browse our website and get in touch to find out how you can make a
difference whilst having a life-changing experience!
