The mission of the Royal Botanical Gardens is ‘To enable better management of the Earth's environment by increasing knowledge and understanding of the plant and fungal kingdoms - the basis of life on earth’. The Royal Botanical Gardens contains a collection of living and preserved plants, and botanical information, it forms an encyclopaedia of knowledge about plants. Their website contains extensive information regarding conservation and wildlife and science and horticulture, there is also educational information for students and teachers along with opening times and admission prices for anyone wishing to visit.

Kew is a world-class research and conservation organisation, and a major provider of educational programmes across the curriculum. Its work is centred on 2 locations, Kew Gardens and Wakehurst Place. Kew has excellent educational value from pre-school to graduate. Every year thousands of young people find out about science, geography, art and much more in the variety of habitats and venues that are available.

Wakehurst Place offers hands-on seed conservation, habitat preservation, and woodland management. It also gives students the experience of learning in the mansion labs, field study centre, nature reserves, and the Millennium Seed Bank.
