Specialist Sports, now owned by Leeds Utd and England right back Danny
Mills, Ex International Marathon Runner Neil Featherby and former Norwich
City and now Southend Utd footballer Daryl Sutch, was originally set up
during 1994 to offer a service to those looking to purchase serious sports
equipment from a serious sports shop ( as opposed to all the fashion
orientated so called sports shops that were springing up around
the Country ) that had personal who were dedicated and qualified to offer
advice on all aspects of sports footwear, clothing and equipment.
All our
stock is specially selected by either Danny, Neil or Daryl in what we
consider will meet the demands of playing and training for sport from
leading brands such as Nike, Adidas, Asics, Mizuno, Puma, Valsport, Umbro,
Mitre, Saucony, Cardio Sport plus much, much more. Footballers of all ages
are catered for whether it be for a tie up or tin of dubbin, through to
the very latest in boots. Goal Keepers equipment is stocked from brands
such as Uhlsport, Adidas, Mitre and Sells and Park Kits and every aspect
of training and playing equipment for teams from the very youngest junior
sides up to the semi professional and professional clubs.
The
specialist running department offers equipment for men, women, boys and
girls of all ages whether it be for track and field, cross country or road
running. Our staff are trained to meet the individual needs of each and
everyone of our customers, whether it be for the excessive over pronator,
or the relaxed economical style of the neutral runner through to the high
arched rigid foot of the supinator, that requires footwear offering plenty
of cushioning, shock absorption and flexibility. Our staff will ask
various questions after an examination of your feet, body type, running
style and old shoes if you have them.
The type
of questions raised will consist of some details on your past and present
training, the type of terrain you run on as well as your future running
plans and goals. We will also ask for any history that there may be
regarding injuries. Once we feel we have established and identified shoes
that are best suited for you and your type, a selection from various
brands will be brought out for you to try outside of our shop where we are
able to get a good look of how your running gait copes with each model and
just as importantly for you to decide on which model feels the best and
most comfortable for you.
We also
have an excellent range of footwear, clothing and equipment for squash and
badminton players as well as catering for those that wish to play in the
odd game of tennis, schools to club standard hockey, or just want to work
out in the Gym.
Sportlink
also now offers advice and purchase from our website and online shop,
where we will endeavour to still give you the type of service we pride
ourselves on with next day delivery where required.
