Waste Watch is a UK environmental charity working to change the
way people use the world’s natural resources.
Our vision is of a world in which people use resources
effectively, live sustainably and make a positive contribution
to the environment.
We advise, educate and support people to make changes to their
lives that will reduce their environmental impact and improve
their quality of life.
By changing the world around us – at home, at work, in school
and in our communities – we can all make a big difference. And
Waste Watch exists to show everyone how they can make that
difference.
Waste Watch in Schools
Waste Watch education and training programmes promote
sustainable living and waste reduction at school, in communities
and in the workplace.

Over the past twenty years we have:
• educated over two million children across the UK;
• inspired hundreds of thousands through our outreach
activities;
• trained hundreds of staff and education professionals;
• enabled countless volunteers to champion sustainability; and
• brought about real, measurable reductions in waste.
The success of our work has established us as the national
expert in waste education and we continue to build on this
reputation by developing new ways to connect with diverse
audiences.
Our programmes
Waste Watch offers fun, hands-on, quality learning experiences
through our schools, community and workplace programmes.
Our schools programmes are linked to the National Curriculum and
are designed to help pupils and staff reduce their environmental
impact at school and at home.
• Sustainable Schools – supports staff to implement the National
Framework for Sustainable Schools and encourages staff and
pupils to identify their own pathways and solutions to environmental challenges.
• Recycler – our ever-popular interactive robot teaches primary
school pupils how to reduce, reuse and recycle, but can be used
to deliver other environmental messages.
• School visits – our qualified education staff offer a range of
day packages for small group or whole-school activities.
• Bespoke programmes – if you have a particular environmental
message you’d like to communicate, we can develop a programme to
suit your needs.
